Made it to Fetiyeh really early in the morning and checked into one of the nicest hostel I’ve ever stayed in. The dorm had 6 beds and each pod had a curtain and a flat screen tv on it. I rested for a little bit and then went to the bathroom and the charm of the hostel went out the window! The bathroom was so small one could barely fit. When I sat on the toilet I could barely close the door because my knees touched the door. The funniest thing happened the next morning when I went in to brush my teeth and a guy was taking a shower; he looked up from the shower and we could see each other, he even asked me if I could hold his wrist band and put it somewhere, I didn’t even have to fully extend my arm to grab it from him! We both started laughing at the awkwardness of the bathroom and started a conversation… while he showered!!! So many points  deducted for the bad bathroom!

Anyway, on my first day I met a Turkish guy who was staying in the dorm and although I thought he was a little bit strange ( he had a winnie the pooh stuffed animal and walked around the room holding it like a baby and petting it!) I couldn’t find the words to tell him not to come with me for a walk when he invited himself.
So we went for a walk and the more he talked the weirder it got! It turned out that he had broken up with a girl she met online and "dated" for three months (although I don't even think they dated and it was all in his head) and he was depressed. He didn't realize that he was talking to somebody who actually knows a thing or two about mental health and that his behavior was 100% attention seeking... it took a lot of energy to deal with him.
As we hiked up for 20 minutes all I heard was complaining but I kept going an ignored him until we reached the top of the hill and got a pretty nice view of Fethiye from up top.

Where we hiked up earlier in the day!

After the "hike" he said he wanted a beer so we went to the store and he got one. It was like 11am and he chugged 1liter of beer, and then went back to the store for another one, and then we went for yet another one but after 20 minutes in the liquor section he ended up buying cheap wine instead. I think he might have a drinking problem!

In the afternoon I rested and took a nap and once I woke up I sneaked out of the room and went for a walk on my own... so much better!

The next day I woke up early and was very quiet in order not to wake up the turkish guy so he wouldn’t invite himself again. I quickly got ready and took a bus to Kayakoy village.

Kayakoy is known as a ghost town, with many destroyed buildings all around.
I really took advantage of the possibility of getting lost and walked all over the hills and passed the many buildings around me.

Once I had finished my walk I took the bus back to fetiyeh and strolled around the water front and relaxed.

The next day was off to Pamukkale!!
