Pamukkale

I wasn’t really sure about wether or not to go to Pamukkale since I googled it and it just looked like some thermal pools and I’m not a fan of swimming in other people’s germs. My friend Simone had highly recommended them and when I talked to my friend Leslie she said “Pamukkale is something I would go back to Turkey for” so… I booked an early bus ride to Pamukkale on my way to Selcuk.

The bus dropped me off and immediately a guy from a tourist office came out and said I could leave all my luggage in the office, visit Pamukkale and then take the 4pm bus to Selcuk so I left everything there and went to explore Pamukkale.

As I walking up the street I got a glance of Pamukkale and I was amazed! The area is huge, one can see the white mineral formations from far away.
I paid the entrance fee and started walking up, once I reached the beginning of the white mineral floor I had to take off my shoes and walk barefoot. Warm water was coming down and it felt so good but very strange at the same time! I somewhat got very excited about Pamukkale and highly enjoyed the experience!

how crazy that this is not snow but pure mineral formations?!?!

As I kept walking up I noticed that more and more water was coming down. At one point I set up my tripod and started to take pictures and suddenly I heard dripping and the pool behind me was overflowing so I was lucky enough to grab my stuff and move them away.

Water dripping down.

Once I reached the top I kept walking around and ended up in an even more beautiful side of Pamukkale, where the pools form beautiful terraces of minerals. It got even better when the paragliders were flying on top of them! So super cool!

Look at those mountains!

My eyes couldn't open any bigger to witness the beauty of this place!

Admiring the paraglider!

Pamukkale is not only about the pools and hotsprings but it’s also an archaeological site with ruins. I quickly went through a little part of it and then went back to the travertines, and this time even more water was flowing through!

Pamukkale... what a special sight! I'm so lucky!
