One of the highlights of Slovenia is Lake Bled so of course April and I decided to go on a day trip and check it out.

We got our roundtrip ticket and headed on a 2hour bus drive to this Slovenian jewel.

Once at the lake we had different options such as renting a bike, going on a boat, or walking around the lake so we chose the cheapest one (the free one) and decided to walk all around the lake since it wasn’t that big.
The option of getting a boat to the island just seemed a little bit crazy for a 2 min ride and 10Euro roundtrip (as if they would live you in the island for you to swim back) plus entrance fee to the church it would be like 16euros for a 30 minute attraction.

The view of the lake was great all around! We had many photo stops to take yet another picture of the same thing… lake bled!

You could rent boats per hour! It would take me an hour just to try to figure out how to row!

At about the middle part of our walk we went on a little hike that was not supposed to be all that little but we were satisfied enough (and probably lazy) with the view from the middle that we didn’t want to bother finding the path to go all the way up.

We kept walking the rest of the lake and somehow even though it was almost the same length we walked it so much faster, maybe because by then we were tired of taking pictures every three seconds!

April and I admiring the lake! <3

By the time we made it back to our starting point it was 3pm and we really wanted to eat some indian food from a recommended restaurant and it turned out that the restaurant had just closed! Then we decided to take the next bus and eat in Ljubjlana but funny enough the 3:30pm bus was the only hourly bus not included in our round trip ticket so we had to wait an extra hour to get back to Ljubljana... the little things that happen when you are traveling!

How beautiful is this grocery store?!?!

Lake Bled was beautiful even with dark clouds in the sky, apparently if you stay there for a few days there are a lot of beautiful hikes around and make (overpriced) tours that one can do from there. For me a couple of hours was enough to take in the view of Lake Bled and the surrounding mountains! Definitely worth the trip!
