The last of El Nido

I had done tour A and C but my friends hadn’t so I had this wonderful idea of renting a private boat to take us to the best places of A and C, add some more from others tours and come back to El Nido after sunset. I went around town asking for prices and finally found one that gave us a fair price and included everything that we wanted.

The morning of the tour we all got to the meeting point at 7:45 so we could leave at 8am and beat some of the tourist boat traffic but after many delays we ended up leaving close to 9am.

Our crew consisted of a “captain” and 2 children as his helpers (one was his son); the older one spent most of his time chasing after us and telling us it was time to go to our next destination.

The first stop of the day was at Helicopter island for some snorkeling.

Second stop was at the little lagoon and I recommended everybody not to rent a kayak because it wasn’t all that worth it. We all decided to swim but what we didn’t take into consideration was that our boat had left us so so so so far away from the lagoon that we had to swim a lot to get to it. We were all exhausted and at the end Jason, our kid guide, borrowed a kayak and came to pick some of us up.

While we were at the lagoon the crew had prepared lunch and set it all up in the boat but we didn’t want to eat on the boat, we wanted to eat on the beach, on a beautiful beach. And since our wishes were their commands our awesome captain took us to a beautiful and private white sand beach… The only problem was that we didn’t have any shade! By then it was noon and the sun was so strong it was hard to stand it, we all got more sunscreen and clothes on and hoped for the best!

Once we were done with lunch we went to the big lagoon and I was surprised to see that there weren’t all that many boats around. We all rented kayaks and in we went in the big lagoon. We spent maybe a little more than an hour kayaking the big lagoon, for about half an hour we had the lagoon all to ourselves… it was MAGICAL!!!!!!!! We loved it so much!!! We really were in  heaven!

We then stopped at yet another beautiful spot with pristine blue water!!!

Our day had been so much fun and after some more snorkeling our captain was rushing us to get to some of the places in our itinerary but we were exhausted (I think the sun at noon just got to us) so we decided to skip some of the places we had agreed and asked to be taken to the sunset beach to relax and wait for the sunset.

For our last day we had a grand plan of going to a beach 45 mins away from El Nido but Galen was sunburn and Rosavel and myself didn’t have any energy to sit in a jumpy tuk tuk for a long time so we decided to skip it and enjoy the day in El Nido.

In the afternoon we headed over to Las Cabañas beach for some DELICIOUS food and sunset!

Tuk Tuk ride!

Relaxing much?!?!

Food was so good we ordered everything twice!

I Think sunset was the best part of las cabañas!

And just like that our stay in El Nido was over and I left a little bit sad after saying goodbye to my friends. At the airport in Manila I saw a flight to San Francisco… My heart sunk, and for a second I wished that I could take that flight back home, I was filled with sadness but then… I moved on!
