Sighisoara and Cluj Napoca

From Brasov I decided to go to Sighisoara but everybody kept saying that there wasn't much to do in there and it could be done just in a couple of hours so I decided to change my plans and go for the day but take my bag and move to the next city.
Transportation in Romania is a little complicated, many long distance busses have to have a reservation and when you call the day before they are already full, trains take forever and run only a few times a day to some cities, so I decided to go and figure it out later.

I arrived at Sighisoara's bus station with the idea of spending the day there and taking the 5pm train that would get me to Cluj Napoca around 11pm but thought of asking for a bus schedule just in case there was a bus earlier but there wasn't! The only bus to Cluj was at 7am! Bummer!

I walked to the train station and dropped my bag and off I went to visit beautiful Sighisoara.

My first stop was at the tourist office but it was closed! I moved on to tourist office numero dos.. Closed too!

So I decided to walk the town, let the roads lead me..
First I went up the hill and had a view of the town.

Then I continued to what seemed like the biggest attraction of the town, its tower!

And from there all the city had were really pretty little streets with colourful houses and beautiful architecture. Sometimes when I saw a group I stopped and listened to guides share some history about the town and moved on.

At one point I saw a covered tunnel going up hill and decided to take it and maybe see a breath taking view from the top. Well, that didn't happen, there wasn't a nice view up there but a church and a cemetery!

That's as good as the view got, I was on my tippy toes over a fence!

I went back down and by then I felt like I had seen most of the town so I kept walking down to the main street and stopping to take pictures of some of the buildings.

Super Charming!

The tower can be seen from pretty much every alley in town!

After just a  couple of hours I had finished the city pretty much so I went into a hostel and borrowed their wifi password and tried to find a way to get to Cluj sooner. Earlier I noticed that there were plenty of busses on the schedule going to Targo Mures which was closer to Cluj and figured out that there was a bus going to Cluj every couple of hours from there so got my back packet and got on the next bus to Targu Mures.

By 4pm I had made it to Cluj! Yeay

Cluj was recommended by a friend and seems to always be in everybody's itinerary for Romania. To be honest I didn't quite understand the fuss about it! It is a college town and probably half of the buildings in the city are a faculty. There is night life being that it is a college town but I wasn't very impressed by it.
I spent my two days there walking around town, eating some good indian food (Romanian food is pretty much all meat so finding a good Indian felt like heaven!) and even visited the Botanical Gardens.

I think this statue is quite meaningful, saw it in Sighisoara too!
I love capturing people!

I even walked up to a viewing point of Cluj, pretty nice!

Walking through the park.

I really enjoyed walking through the Botanical Garden, I especially liked that they have a scetion for blind people based on other senses so they can touch the plants, smell them, and info its written in braille.

These were HUGE!
