I finally made it to Russia! Yeay!

I got to Latvia and unfortunately I was in a hurry to go to Russia to get to the Caucasus to get to Africa before it gets too hot! Ah! what a tough life I have!
I have said before that every one creates the trip they want for themselves but rushing through countries is not my thing but this time I just had to... I am so looking forwards to Africa, although I'm a little scared!

After two nights in Kaunas I decided it was time to go and visit the capital of Lithuania, Vilnius.

There really wasn’t an easy way to get out of Gdansk and into Lithuania. I looked at the possibility of going into Kaliningrad (a little Russia territory between the countries) but the bus out of there was $40 so I decided it was too much. At the end I had to take a bus back to Warsaw and then a night bus to Kaunas, my first stop in Lithuania.

This post has been brewing for a couple of months in a note on my cellphone. As I traveled around and thought about what I’ve learned that could be helpful to others I wrote it down on a note... and here it is!
