I actually don't know how I got to Barcelona in one piece;  my back was in so much pain it was almost unbearable!

Since I had a night bus ticket from Toulouse to Barcelona I decided to go and just deal with the pain. I was barely able to walk (I literally walked like a 99 year old with a cane) so I made sure to ask for help when I needed to put on or take off my backpack. Bending down was almost impossible, sitting down was bearable, but standing up felt like somebody was just stabbing me with knifes, sneezing felt like sending an electric shock from my head all the way down to the tip of my toes and stiffed my lower back! I think I had never been in so much pain in my life.

I arrived at my friends Melanie and Pablo's flat in Barcelona and pretty much laid down on the mattress they put on the floor for me for 4 days straight!(God bless them for their kindness!) I felt so bad to not be able to do much but at least Melanie was also sick so we kept each other company!

After Dinner with Mel and Pablo (using Mel's new chair! haha)

Melanie and Pablo excelled at their duties on being hosts, they took care of me when I couldn't take care of myself! They fed me delicious vegan meals every day, went down to the pharmacy to get me medicines  and made sure my back was ok. I couldn't have asked for a better place to be sick... I will be grateful for the rest of my life and hopefully next time we will meet in better terms :)

The day before I left I was able to walk a little bit so decided to go check out the Sagrada Familia. It took me about 40 mins to walk the regular 15mins from their house. I only had mild pain but I knew I would over do it if I decided to go in so I just walked around and went back to their house.

In my head I would go to Madrid in a night bus for 8 hours but in reality my body couldn't take it so my mom got me a bullet train ticket to Madrid that would take me there in less than two hours.

The day I left for Madrid my back was still no good and there was no way I could carry my backpack to the station so after much thought and planning I decided to ask the female traveler group if there was anybody who could help me carry my backpack from my friend's house to the station. To my surprise there were a couple of girls willing to help... Thank goodness for kind people!

With Sofia at the train station!

On my way to Madrid!
