Kuala Lumpur round 6!

So here I am back in Kuala Lumpur!

KL has been my home base for the last 3 months since roundtrip Air Asia flights are cheaper from here.

I can’t believe it’s already been 6 months; I have been having so much fun that I highly doubt that I’ll be on the road for only a year! So many places to see and so many experiences to have!

In the last 3 months I have been to Hong Kong, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Myanmar! I can hardly believe that I have visited 51 countries around the world! (It has taken me 32 years though!)

I can’t thank my parents enough for encouraging me to travel on my own from a young age. I was so lucky to be able to go to boarding school for a summer in Paris when I was 14, and traveled to the US without my parents many times. I believe these experiences planted a seed for the now adventurous Andrea who isn't afraid of jumping on a plane and go explore the unknown.

I have had an EPIC 6-months and although it has been a lot of fun I needed to rest. I was not sure what the destination after Myanmar would be and then all of a sudden I decided to go to Iran and the night before leaving back to KL I bought a ticket to Tehran… with a 10 day rest vacation (from my vacation) in Kuala Lumpur.

I really took it to heart when I said I would rest! During my 10 days in KL I didn’t do much other than make friends, sit on the couch, sit at the restaurant next to the hostel, and watch (sadly) with amazement everything that was going on in the US with the Muslim ban and all the other non sense that has been going on back home.

with the boys!

My down time in KL was well deserved and between my rests I got to see a little bit of KL.

Street Art

A few months ago I went to see the batu  caves and was disappointed because the statue was half covered so I decided to go again. This time, it was during the hindu holiday season and I got to see full processions and some really crazy rituals.

With Juan and Peter

He has hooks on his back! ouch!

I also went shopping for clothes for Iran.. crazy!!

Now, I'm ready to take on Iran!!!
