We got dropped off at the intersection after our 2 rides with strangers from Mangahurco. We got off the car and the lady who was riding with us got us a ride to take us to the next town. We weren't 100% sure where we wanted to go, I had heard that Guayaquil was dangerous and there wasn't anything to do there so depending on how our ride schedule was going to work out we would plan where to sleep. The lady who got us the ride said that probably the guy was trustworthy because he was friends with some police men so it was ok to go with him.

While I was in Cuenca at the hat shop, Andres told me that at the moment there was the “florecimiento de los Guayacanes”, a tree that flowers for about 8 days once a year!

I had read that there were a couple of towns near Cuenca that were worth visiting so Anna and I hoped into a local bus and headed to three towns.

After Baños we headed to Cuenca, the most charming city yet! To be honest it looks a little bit like Quito but in a smaller version.

After a couple of days in Quito we decided to make our way down south to Baños. In between Baños and quito there were places like Cotopaxi and Quilotoa that we could have stopped at but with the rainy weather and foggy skies, plus my bad back and not being able to hike, we decided to skip it and go straight to Baños.

After three weeks in El Salvador recovering from back pain, going to the chiropractor every other day, enjoying my mom, and spending some time with family and friends I was given the Ok to keep on traveling. My next destination: Quito, Ecuador.

I left El Salvador on a night flight and got to Quito passed midnight. The problem with night flights is that is costs a lot to get to the hostel because there is no public transport and the only choice is a taxi.
As I walked out of the arrival doors I looked to see if there was wifi to get an Uber but no luck, so then I walked to the taxi counter.

As I looked for the name of my Hostel one lady came to the desk and asked for a taxi to the city center. I immediately jumped to the opportunity of sharing a taxi since we were both going the same direction. While chatting I told her about my trip and told me how she used to work for National Geographic... How cool!
